Lil Yachty - The Field Trip Tour
Bombastic, fun, and proudly amateurish, the rapper, Lil Yachty, takes the stage for his 2023 tour
Task: Design a tour drum head.
OUTCOME
IDEATION
Utilizing existing existing assets and creating new ideas in one project. The project called for a “figure trapped behind glass” design as well as a drumhead design based on the tour poster.
PROCESS - MAIN DRUMHEAD
The main design was requested specifically by the client to be a “figure behind glass”. Designs with a variety of stock images were mocked and proofed to find the one that fit best. The chosen image was finalized with artificially widening and then colorizing the image.
PROCESS - SECONDARY DRUMHEAD
The tour poster drumhead was a secondary design and it involved taking the existing assets and separating them out so they could be manipulated and placed accordingly for the drumhead composition.
